We had a telephone call from a woman who required to find out exactly where her husband was. He had left her and the kids but had not given her a forwarding address. She told us that although he came to see their youngsters once a week he didn’t give her any funds for them and with out an address for him she could not give his details towards the CSA. He had changed his job when he left and she didn't know exactly where he was operating now. The only time she knew where he was was when he came to see the children.
We decided that to discover exactly where he was living and working we really should fit a tracking device to his vehicle. This would tell us where he was staying and exactly where he was working. The automobile belonged to our client so we could fit the device when he subsequent came to go to the youngsters. We suggested the device must stay on the automobile for two weeks. This would make certain a good pattern of movements from the car.
We located the details within the very first week and having a few follow up telephone calls confirmed the data was right. We removed the device after two weeks and our client could give the data to the CSA. Our client then decided she wanted to know if he was cohabitating with another woman. We carried out surveillance on the house address we had identified for him. Soon after three sessions of six hour slots we had sufficient evidence of cohabitation for our client to take to her solicitor.
We have since located out that she has filed for divorce on the ground of adultery and that he left her for this new woman. He has had to pay all the arrears from the CSA.
